In which Charla does homework. And learns slang....

Tonight, Charla is doing homework. She is trying to help me write a 30 minute presentation about the country of Mali. After which, we will lead the group in 20 minutes of prayer for the country. Obviously, we will need heaps of prayers because just the though of being in front of 50 of my fellow YWAMers makes this blogger's heart skip quite a few beats. I might even go into cardiac arrest.....AND not have to do the project!! Heeeyyyy....Now THAT could be an idea. But this blog is about Chala. I apologize, Dear Readers, for my brief lapse of memory. I forget my place.
Anyway, she is researching Mali. In particular, the Bozo People. Yes. You read that right: The BOZOs. I swear I dont know how I will be able to get through the presentation without laughing everytime I say that name. Oh goodness. Charla will have to do most of the talking on this project!!
Anyway, as a bit of culture for y'all, I will now teach you some of the words that Charla has been learning this week in order to keep up with the dangerous dialect of the Australians.
Brekky: Breakfast
Woolies: Woolworths, the local supermarket
Macca's: McDonald's
Ute: Small truck
Bonnet: Hood of car or truck.
Petrol: gas....duh.
Mate: Friend
Bourgan: They still struggle to find an american equivelant for this word. But its not a compliment. apperently.
Feral: Gross

So yeah. Thats all for now folks! HOPEFULLY Charla will update her facebook page to tell us all about Airlie in great detail. But likely not. All we know right now is that she had a great time and had an awesome experience with God. whoo hoo!!!
Ok, Thats all for now Blokes!!

The Charla Files

So last night at 9:45 pm, Charla and 16 other enthustiastic YWAMers set off on the 17 hour bus ride to Airlie Beach. Through they may have seemed excited now, this blogger is quite certain that they will be feeling slightly less than par upon their arrival. Charla is going to Airlie Beach to help out with Schoolies. Schoolies is like graduation here, and it is a month long party full of drinking, partying, and drug use. Charla is going there to get wasted.
JUST KIDDING!!!
NO, she is going there to help the drunk kids. See, YWAM is setting up this huge tent and they will be playing live music and stuff and then when the kids come in, they have an opportunity to minister to them.
This outreach will be lasting for over a week, but Charla will be back here on the base safe and sound next saturday.
Last week, the lecture topic was hearing the voice of God. Charla was able to hear God's voice and he revealed some of theplans that he has for her life and others' lives. Outreach locations were announced last week, and Charla felt like God was leading her to India. She will be traveling with 12 other girls and one guy. We all feel sorry for him. Charla will be leaving for outreach on February 12th, but a deposit of $2,000 is due on the 24th of November to pay for airfair. If you feel moved to donate ANYTHING, it would help her greatly. Outreach will last until March 30th, and  the whole time the group will be traveling about the country, using their talents and God's guidance to lead people to the Lord.
This week in lectures, Charla has been learning about evangelism. Last night, she was brave enough to march to the front of the class and share what God is doing in her life. Charla's innovative way to reach the world for Christ was getting a popular mainstream artist to record a Christian song.
Before leaving for Airlie Beach, the team was SUPPOSED to clean their beds and part of the room that they reside in. UNFOURTUNATELY, that did NOT happen and thus, this blogger, along with her two remaining roomates, will struggle to clean the room all by ourselves. Don't worry, we still love her. Mostly.
So, as you can see, dear followers, Charla leads a very busy life, and it is for this very reason that she does not have a blog of her own. But do not fear, this blogger will be fearlessly documenting all the major events that take place in Charla's life whilst she is here.
So Long for now, Blokes!!
